All Blacks' powerhouse duo out of Rugby Champs opener

SPOTLIGHT: All Black head coach Scott Robertson has provided an update on some key players ahead of their Rugby Champs opener against Argentina in Córdoba.

After some injury concerns in the series against France, Robertson confirmed that brothers Scott and Beauden Barrett are both available for selection this week.

Beauden makes his way back from a broken hand while Scott has recovered from a calf injury that kept him out of the second and third Tests against France.

“They’re great,” said Robertson.

“Beauden’s hand is fine, and Scooter’s leg is all good.

“He’s rehabbed really well, and he’s taken the chance to recondition. He’s in great condition.”

The not-so-good news for the All Blacks is that they will be without some powerhouse forwards for the Argentina Test.

Wallace Sititi, who didn’t feature against France in July due to an ankle injury, will not be available for Saturday’s showdown.

Meanwhile, prop Tamaiti Williams, who suffered a knee injury while playing for the Crusaders in Super Rugby, is back in full training. However, he will also not be up for selection this week.

Williams and Sititi are set to be in contention for a matchday 23 spot for the second Test in Buenos Aires next week.
