Boozy Beale in hot water again
Enigmatic utility back Kurtley Beale's Wallaby future may be in jeopardy after the playmaker was allegedly involved in an incident on a flight to South America at the weekend.
According to reports in the Australian media Beale abused a member of the team's management during the flight from Johannesburg.
The staff member returned to Australia on Wednesday, having decided to leave the tour.
"We're aware of an alleged incident involving Wallabies player Kurtley Beale on a flight from South Africa to Brazil on Sunday, September 28," an ARU spokesperson said.
"The matter has been referred by Team Management to the Australian Rugby Union's Integrity team to be investigated according to our usual processes. This investigation will ensure all parties have an opportunity to present all relevant facts, before any assessment of the alleged incident can be reached. We expect the investigation will be completed by the end of next week.
"We can confirm that a Wallabies staff member has left the team to return to Australia."
While the reasons for Beale's behaviour has not been revealed, he has been involved in quite a few drunken late night brawls – including hitting a security guard.
In one of his most infamous boozy brain explosions he punched Gareth Delve, his Melbourne Rebels captain of the time, on the team bus on a tour in Durban last year.
He was forced into treatment for an alcohol-related behaviour disorder.
Even when he was recalled, he was unable to avoid controversy and was pictured in a burger bar at 03.50 just days before the second Test against the British and Irish Lions.
The Wallabies face Argentina at Estadio Malvinas Argentinas, in Mendoza, on Saturday as they look to bounce back from their last-gasp Rugby Championship loss to South Africa last week.
