Leguizamón to lead Pumas

Loose forward Juan Manuel Leguizamón will captain the Pumas in their November internationals against England, Wales and Italy.

New Argentina coach Daniel Hourcade has backed the 30-year-old to stand in for regular skipper Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, who has been ruled out of the end-of-year tour due to a fractured elbow.

"I am very pleased that I have to been given this responsibility and I [will] do my very best," said Leguizamón.

"We have three very difficult games and we must put in a maximum amount of work each week to tackle them as best we can.

"Undoubtedly, this appointment is an honour for me as a player and I will seek to continue contributing my bit to help this team to continue to grow, as I have always done."

Argentina kick-off their tour with a tough assignment against England at Twickenham on Saturday.
