Los Pumas lose halfback duo ahead of Bok rematch

SQUAD UPDATE: Los Pumas head coach Felipe Contepomi has been forced to make some backline changes to his squad for Saturday’s rematch with the Springboks in London.

Flyhalf Tomas Albornoz and Gonzalo Garcia are ruled out through injury.

Gonzalo Bertranou and Nicolas Roger have now been called up and will join the squad in London.

Albornoz is on the sidelines again after he recently returned from a hand injury. He scored a try in his side’s 30-67 defeat to the Springboks in their Round Five encounter in Durban.

Garcia will sit out the next match due to concussion after a heavy collision with teammate Guido Petti at Kings Park

South Africa currently hold a one-point lead at the top of the standings over the second-placed All Blacks, who are on 14 points, while the Wallabies are in third place with 11 points, and Argentina are at the bottom of the log with nine points.
