Scotland make a late change

Ryan Grant, the 18-times capped Glasgow Warriors prop, has been invited to train with Scotland for year-end Tests, as an injury replacement for Edinburgh's Allan Dell.

Dell sustained a leg injury in last Friday's Pro12 match against Leinster at the RDS in Dublin.

He was assessed at St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin and returned the next day to Edinburgh with the rest of the team.

He is currently under the care of medical staff at Spire Murrayfield and will undergo surgery at the earliest opportunity, after which timelines for recovery will be determined.

Grant, who toured Australia with the 2013 British & Irish Lions, began his timely return from shoulder surgery in May in the Premiership a fortnight ago.

He then made a man-of-the-match winning comeback in professional rugby as the starting loosehead in the Warriors’ Guinness Pro12 win over Treviso at Scotstoun on Friday.

Scotland’s Test campaign gets underway at Murrayfield this Saturday against Argentina, before facing Rugby Championship winners New Zealand, at the same venue on November 15, followed by Tonga at Rugby Park on November 22.
