AUDIO: Kiwi coach to take RG Snyman's game to new heights

SPOTLIGHT: Springbok lock RG Snyman is already a beast when it comes to his offloading game and now he is aiming to get even better under attack coach Tony Brown.

Snyman started in the No.5 jersey in Saturday’s 29-20 win over England and he showed glimpses of what he is capable of when given enough time and space with ball in hand.

It is something that we have been seeing a lot of in his performances with Leinster in this season’s United Rugby Championship and Snyman wants to take it to another level with the Springboks as well.

After the Twickenham showdown, Snyman was asked if Brown was encouraging him to use his offloading skills more.

“Yeah, definitely,” said Snyman.

“On top of that, he is challenging me to be better at making decisions when doing it and when to do it and just having more control within that freedom.

“I am still learning a lot from him and bettering my game under him.”

Snyman also believes his move from Munster to Leinster earlier this year has done his game a world of wonders.

“As much as I enjoyed my time at Munster, I think just the change of scenery did me well and obviously working with Jacques [Nienaber] again is something that I enjoy.

“I know he gets the best out of me, so it is just about continuing that.”

Despite his form, Snyman knows he is far from the finished product.

“I am getting there. I don’t think there is a perfect game,” he said.

“There is always something that you can work on.”

*Meanwhile, the Springboks will be targeting a hat-trick of wins on their November tour when they face Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.

“Trying to make it three out of three definitely puts some pressure on us, but pressure brings the best out of this team,” said Snyman after the victory in London.

“We have a week to prepare for the game against Wales, and we know we can give it our all because it’s our last match of the international season, so we are very excited about the challenge.

“It definitely won’t be easy because the Welsh are always a tough team to play against, especially at home, so we have to prepare well and get stuck in next week.”
