B&I Lions bring in Scottish reinforcements
SQUAD UPDATE: Scottish trio Rory Sutherland, Ewan Ashman and Darcy Graham will join the British and Irish Lions squad to provide cover for the First Nations & Pasifika XV fixture.
All three are part of Scotland’s squad currently in New Zealand, preparing for a fixture against Samoa.
Graham will join the Lions squad on Monday, while Sutherland and Ashman will join the squad in Melbourne on Sunday.
Edinburgh wing Graham made his Scotland debut in 2018 against Wales and has scored 31 tries across 47 international caps.
Glasgow Warriors loosehead prop Sutherland made six appearances for the British & Irish Lions four years ago, including two Test appearances.
Edinburgh hooker Ewan Ashman made his Scotland debut in November 2021 against Australia and has earned 28 caps to date.
Meanwhile, Ireland tighthead Tom Clarkson will reinforce the front row options for the first Test against the Wallabies in Brisbane along with Jamie George.
England hooker George got the call on Saturday after Luke Cowan-Dickie suffered a suspected concussion in the 48-0 win against the AUNZ XV in Adelaide.
The 25-year-old Clarkson is flying in from Lisbon, where he played in the Ireland team that beat Portugal 106-7 on Saturday.
His call-up swells the Irish contingent in the Lions squad, under Ireland head coach Andy Farrell, to 18 players.
