The 30-year-old confirmed the news via social media.

Cooper had been previously warned he would be out of contention for national selection if he wasn’t playing Super Rugby.

The 70-test Wallaby hasn’t appeared for the Queensland Reds – whom he is contracted to – this year after new head coach Brad Thorn told him before the season started that his services weren’t needed.

Despite Thorn’s dismissal, Cooper remains adamant on his quest to rejoin the Reds and Wallabies, sharing his goal in a series of tweets.
