Host of Wallabies in Australia A side to face Japan XV
SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: Ten Wallabies have been included in the Australia A side that will face Japan in Osaka on October 18.
The group, comprising 16 forwards and 10 backs, will participate in the match to be held at Yodoko Sakura Stadium.
Several players feature in their first men’s national XVs program, including Aussie Sevens representative Sid Harvey, Brumbies pair Tevita Alatani and Liam Bowron, as well as scrumhalf Henry Robertson.
The side will be led by Simon Cron, who will be supported by newly appointed Western Force assistant Brad Harris and Junior Wallabies coach Chris Whitaker.
Australia A coach Cron said: “Following the success of the Super Rugby AUS competition, this match is another great opportunity for Australian players to test themselves against high-quality opposition.”
“To have ten Wallabies in the group shows the depth in Australian Rugby, while there’s some young men here who will be keen to challenge themselves for the first time on the international stage.”
