Lambie raring to go in the green and gold

The 25-year-olf has recovered from concussion-related symptoms, which has kept him sidelined for the past few months. He has been out of action since he was knocked out in a sickening clash with Ireland's South African-born flank Christiaan Stander – during the first Test between the Springboks and the Irish in Cape Town on June 11.

The Springboks play the Wallabies in Round Rive of this year's Rugby Championship with plenty of question marks currently being raised over the form of flyhalf Elton Jantjies and it would have come as a big relief when national coach Allister Coetzee Lambie raring to go in the green and goldtold reporters in Johannesburg on Monday that Lambie has been given the all clear to represent the national team this weekend.

"Pat [Patrick Lambie] is not injured anymore. He played for the Sharks and for me it was always a question about Pat letting me know when he was 100 percent [fit].

"It's great to have Pat. He had a great session this morning [Monday] and he will be part of the plans going forward to the weekend," said Coetzee.

Lambie added that he is physically ready for Test-match rugby after spending the last few weeks working on his match fitness in the gym before he hit the field running with a cameo appearance for the Sharks two weeks ago.

"Thankfully, over the last four, five, even six weeks I've been back in the gym.

"I had some good conditioning work under my belt.

"I had a hit out with the Sharks [35 minutes in the 53-0 victory over Eastern Province Kings], so I've ticked all the boxes and I'm quite comfortable to play a full game or as much as I'm needed," explained Lambie.

Lambie further added that he is grateful to be back in the Springbok squad and he is excited to be able to contribute to the team's efforts.

"I'm thrilled to be back and very excited to be included in the group again.

"I've missed being part of the Springboks, so it's wonderful to be back and I'm really looking forward to contributing in any way that I can," he said.

Lambie's return could be vital for the Boks as he is one of the most experienced players in the current squad and he has big match temperament and a cool head. which the Boks have been lacking throughout the season.

In 2013 Lambie proved to be South Africa's hero as he struck over a penalty from 55 metres out on the stroke of full-time, which handed the Springboks a 27-25 victory over the All Blacks.
