Mohoje: Wallabies will look to unsettle us

South Africa have not helped themselves in recent matches against the Wallabies, with a lack of discipline costing the Springboks on many occasions against the men in gold.

The Springboks last played the Wallabies last month in Brisbane and on that occasion Australia managed to walk away with a 23-17 victory.

However, during this last encounter between the two teams, Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth was shown yellow for lack of discipline.

Experienced Springbok wing Bryan Habana was sent to the sin-bin for a dangerous tackle against the Wallabies in a Rugby Championship clash between the two teams back in 2014 in Perth. The Wallabies won that match by a single point 24-23 and speaking to reporters after that particular game, Habana admitted that the yellow card did not help the teams cause.

"Definitely not the result we were looking for and certainly that yellow card probably cost the team a little so I have to look at myself and see where I went wrong," explained Habana.

The Springboks can ill afford to continue their recent tradition of losing their discipline against the Wallabies on Saturday if they are to get that much-desired victory over their Southern Hemisphere rivals.

"I think it's important for us to keep our heads even though they will try and get in our heads, we just need to keep our composure and focus on what we need to do.

"Discipline is vital and not just in this Australian game, but in the whole tournament, because it's easy for another rugby player to get in your head," explained Mohoje.

Springbok coach Allister Coetzee has shown continuity in his team selection for this weekend's Test match against Australia with the loose forward combination of flank Francois Louw and flank Mohoje starting alongside No. 8 Warren Whiteley in the back row.

On the balance of the loose trio, Mohoje added that all three players including himself complement each other well, with Whiteley leading the attack, Louw doing the hard work at the breakdown and all three players putting in a committed effort on defence.

"Warren [Whiteley] on attack has been doing very well and Francois Louw has been good at ruck time. He has been a fetcher and in defence as well we've all been good, so I think it's a good combination and the more games we play the more we will grow together," said Mohoje.
