Scotland's Horne eager to face Wallabies again

Saturday's match at Murrayfield will be the first time the two teams have met since Australia's last-gasp 35-34 win at a rainswept Twickenham last year.

Scotland were ahead when Australia flyhalf Bernard Foley kicked a 79th-minute penalty.

Scotland's Horne eager to face Wallabies againAs if losing with barely a minute left didn't hurt enough, the Scots' sense of injustice was fuelled further when World Rugby admitted that South African referee Craig Joubert had been wrong to award the penalty for offside at all.

But Glasgow centre Horne, who scored Scotland's first try of the quarterfinal, is determined to put the pain of that defeat to good use in Edinburgh on Saturday.

"Games like that just make you hungrier for more," the 27-year-old told STV

"I was just desperate to get another crack, to get another game in a Scotland shirt and play in front of another big crowd like that and try and go a bit better. It just makes you hungrier and hungrier."

Australia started their Grand Slam tour in style with a 32-8 rout of Wales in Cardiff last weekend.

But Horne believes Scotland can rise to the challenge in what will be their opening end-of-year international.

"They put away a good Wales side, so it will be a really good test but that's why you play the game, you want to play the best players in the world," he said.
