Wallabies suffer huge blow ahead of All Black clash

SQUAD UPDATE: Wallaby head coach Joe Schmidt has been forced to tweak his squad for next weekend’s Rugby Championship Round Five encounter against the All Blacks at Eden Park.

On Saturday, the camp revealed that powerhouse loose forward Rob Valetini will not travel to New Zealand due to “calf tightness”.

He will be replaced by Pete Samu in the squad.

Valetini’s calf issue has plagued him throughout the 2025 Test season. He only featured in one British and Irish Lions Test, and he also missed Australia’s historic 38-22 win over the Springboks at Ellis Park.

The Wallabies are currently leading the Rugby Championship standings with 11 points. However, all four sides have won two and lost two so far, with only bonus points separating them.

After their Round Five clash against the All Blacks at Eden Park, the sides will meet again in the final round in Perth.
