England assistant coach continues role with national side
NEWS: England has confirmed that Kevin Sinfield will continue his involvement with the senior men’s national side.
The former league international first joined the England set-up ahead of the 2023 Six Nations campaign initially as a defence coach.
He’s more recently been tasked with improving individual skills and kicking as well as fulfilling a squad mentoring role.
From November, Sinfield will continue in his current role, however his contract time outside of Test windows during match weeks will be reduced – allowing the 44-year-old greater flexibility to balance his personal and professional commitments.
“Kevin is a talented coach and an inspirational figure in our set-up”, said England men’s head coach Steve Borthwick.
“The work he does on and off the field is invaluable to our players, so I am pleased he’ll remain part of the management team and continue to contribute towards the success of England.”
Sinfield added: “Working with Steve and the team has been an immensely rewarding experience, and I am excited to continue my involvement with the team.
“This new arrangement allows me to keep doing the thing that I’m passionate about, coaching and mentoring players, while also balancing other commitments which are important to me.”
