The Welsh will be a big challenge for the English – however, England wing Anthony Watson says the squad are focussed on their own game England focussed on their own gamerather than worrying about the challenge Wales will present on Saturday.

"From a players point of view we just want to put our best foot forward to keep improving, be as best prepared for Wales as possible and try and put on a good performance out there," Watson told englandrugby.com.

"We are concentrating on ourselves and how we can improve to put on a better performance than we did against Ireland."

England defeated Ireland 21-10 at Twickenham but conceded their first try of the tournament with Conor Murray going over.

Had it not been for a try-saving tackle from wing Jack Nowell Ireland could have doubled their tally and defence coach Paul Gustard said the incident "epitomised" their spirit.

"It was a brilliant effort and that is what we are trying to epitomise, over and above things, work rate off the ball," said Gustard. "Jack has pride in his line, he got back and saved what would have been five points."

Gustard echoed Watson's sentiments that they will need to improve, but said that was a general observation rather than one specifically for Wales.

"We are striving to get better in every area and defence is one of those areas we need to get better at," he said.

"We've seen some good improvement over the course of three games but no means are we a finished article.

"We've been together for five weeks and it's up to us to continue to improve in that area. In terms of our set piece, scrummaging, tackling and so on in each game we’ve seen we are on an upward curve and this is another step in terms of preparation.
