Both were issued with red cards during the French XV’s 26-24 win over an England XV at the weekend.

A foul play review committee convened to consider sanctions for Feyi-Waboso and Woki.

The hearing for Feyi-Waboso was chaired by Christopher Quinlan, with former international referee, Donal Courney (Ireland) and former Springbok Stefan Terblanche on the panel.

By the remit of the new expedited off-field sanction process trial operational in the July Test window, sanctions are proposed in line with Appendix 1 of Regulation 17.

The committee met without the attendance the player or their representatives, or World Rugby.

However, written submissions may be provided by the Player to the committee for consideration.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso (England)

The independent committee has confirmed a two match suspension (subject to successful completion of the coaching intervention programme) to England’s Immanuel Feyi-Waboso after determining an action contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle) during the England XV versus France XV match.

The sanction has been accepted by the player.

In determining the sanction, the committee reviewed the matter, including all submissions and footage, the committee determined that Feyi-Waboso’s actions were contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle), and that they carried a high degree of danger.

Therefore a three match suspension was proposed to the player, reduced to two matches subject to successful completion of the coaching intervention programme.
