Farrell: 'It's been gruesome'
England defence coach Andy Farrell refused to downplay the excruciating difficulty of England's schedule across the Atlantic over the past fortnight.
The England squad has been based in Denver, Colorado and Farrell suggested that the 45-man training squad has earned their week off.
Infinity Park in Glendale served as the group's base as they interspersed drills with more conditioning in high temperatures at altitude.
Impressed with some lung-busting effort and palpable desire across the board, the backs and defence coach outlined just how tough a two-week period it has been.
"Some of the training sessions have been really gruesome," Farrell explained.
"We wanted to see who came out fighting in those sessions and to a man all 45 have been exceptional."
England will regroup at Pennyhill Park on Sunday and work towards the first International against France at Twickenham on August 15.
