Marler's injury adds to England's woes

After the knee injury of fellow prop Mako Vunipola, Marler was set to slot into the starting spot in Eddie Jones' side however, England are set to kick-off their campaign against France without their two first-choice looseheads.

Prop Marler was initially told that he had not suffered a leg fracture after pulling up in the warm-up of his Harlequins side's win over Sale on Saturday, the latest scan reversed that diagnosis.

Marler will undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to be fit to play again in four to five weeks.
