Saffa named in Six Nations team of the championship

SPOTLIGHT: Following a sensational Super Saturday – the crescendo of a record-breaking Championship – fans voted for the XV they felt performed the best over the course of this year’s tournament.

France took the honours, but failed to win the Grand Slam following their shock 40-50 loss to Scotland in Round Four.

It was arguably the best Six Nations to date.

Wales broke a three-year losing streak whilst Italy surprised friend and foe by defeating Scotland and England.

Despite all the pre-tournament hype, fifth-place England, which suffered their worst-ever tournament finish, doesn’t have a single representative.

Kyle Steyn was the only South African-born player named in the fans’ vote.

Scotland might regret their Round One defeat to Italy, as a win would have given them a solid chance of clinching the title since 1999 in the last ever Five Nations championship before Italy joined in 2000.
