SOCIAL SPOTLIGHT: For the Springboks, playing at altitude is a massive advantage, but England revealed a trick up their sleeves to combat it.

The two teams will meet for the first time on South African soil since 2018 at Ellis Park on July 4, where Siya Kolisi made his debut as captain.

The Boks famously completed a remarkable comeback after being 3-24 down, eventually running England ragged and winning 42-39.

Altitude might have played a factor to the advantage of the Boks, but this time, England came prepared.

England revealed on social media platform TikTok how they prepare to play at altitude using wattbikes and portable hypoxic generators to simulate conditions of 3000 metres above sea level.
