Bok flyhalf gets two-week ban
Veteran Springbok flyhalf Morné Steyn has been suspended for two weeks pending further investigation into his sending-off for Stade Francais last weekend.
This follows a French National Rugby League disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old was red-carded in Stade Francais' 9-12 defeat against Lyon last Friday – which saw them lose first place on the Top 14 standings.
The LNR said Steyn, the top-scorer at the 2011 World Cup, would appear before their disciplinary commission on January 22.
"[Steyn] is suspended awaiting the meeting," the LNR added.
Steyn claimed that Lyon's Fijian wing Mosese Ratuvou had eye-gouged him, which resulted in his retaliation.

uvou was also called before the disciplinary commission for the incident, but not suspended.
Steyn had confidently kicked Stade into a 6-0 lead courtesy of a 40-metre penalty and a drop-goal.
But after Ratuvou had cut the deficit with the match's opening try, Steyn saw red in the 31st minute for kicking the Fijian wing, as the two tussled on the ground.
It left Stade to play 50 minutes with 14 men and Lyon took full advantage when Ratuvou added a second try early in the second period.
* Three other Top 14 players were also called before the LNR but not suspended – Remi Lamerat (Castres), Olivier Missoup (Oyonnax) and Thomas Synaeghel (La Rochelle).
