Collins daughter in 'worrying' state

The three-month-old daughter of All Black great Jerry Collins, who died last week alongside his wife Alana Madill in a road accident, remains in a "worrying" state, according to a prosecutor in the southern French city of Beziers.

"The state of the health of Alya still remains worrying," Yvon Clavet said in a statement regarding the baby girl who was in the car with her late parents at the time of the crash.

"Following the accident during which Jerry Collins and his companion Alana Madill were killed, investigations are ongoing, notably through various medical tests and complementary analyses."

Clavet added that in order to determine the exact circumstances of the crash, experts will be brought in to examine the vehicles.

Collins, 34, and Madill died instantly on Friday when a bus crashed into their car on a motorway in southern France.

Known as the "human wrecking ball" who played with a smile on his face, Collins played 48 Tests for the All Blacks, including three as captain.

He ended his international career to play in Europe and Japan after New Zealand lost to France in the 2007 World Cup quarterfinals.
