Volsteedt, who spent three years at Bucs, will link up with Meyer at struggling French giants Stade Francais.

They previously worked together at the Bulls during Meyer's successful sting in Pretoria – which included winning the Super Rugby title in 2007.

"I would like to thank the Orlando Pirates family, the staff and especially the Chairman [Irvin Khoza] for the support and encouragement over the past two-and-a-half seasons at the club," Volsteedt told the club's website.

Apart from Meyer, other South Africans at the French club include Heinke van der Merwe, Willem Alberts and Morné Steyn.
