The match was due to take place in the Spanish city of Bilbao on June 22 ahead of France’s tour to South America.

“The city of Bilbao will have to wait before hosting another international rugby match,” said the organisers who added that they are looking for a new date for the match.

France were due to face a selection of the world’s best players, including Fijian Semi Radradra, England’s Billy and Mako Vunipola as well as Farrell before Fabien Galthie’s team head off on tour in July.

France will play two Tests against Argentina and one against Uruguay.
