Game on for Sharks v Toulon

Two time European Cup champions Toulon have accepted and set a date for the challenge presented to them by the Sharks CEO John Smit to play the Sharks in a North vs South pre-season friendly.

 

The date for this clash has been set for Thursday, February 5 2015 at the Stade Mayol in Toulon.

 

This match against the best European Rugby Club in recent history marks an ideal opportunity to fine tune the Sharks preparation for an important Super Rugby season ahead.

 

Confirming the match, Smit said: “I have huge respect for Toulon and their success in recent years is a clear indication of the brand of rugby they play as well as their work ethic and the pride and passion they have for their club and the game at large.

 

“It’s always good to play against, learn and share ideas with the best teams around and we are delighted that Toulon has accepted the challenge. We look forward to an epic battle on the field of play and a long-term partnership off it.”

 

With both teams set to field strong sides for this match, it should be an entertaining and action-packed encounter.
