The 35-year-old from the Ivory Coast was sent off by Poite for swearing at the French official during last Saturday's Top 14 home match against Grenoble.

He has been suspended pending his disciplinary hearing, which will take place in a couple of weeks.

Tian was yellow-carded in the 67th minute after a succession of infringements by his team, but immediately saw his card upgraded to a red due to his indignant protests.

He then made matters worse by trying to confront the referee after the match as Poite left the field.

He faces a six-week ban which would rule him out of the rest of the current season, in which his Oyonnax side are almost certain to be relegated.
