Jake unveiled by Montpellier
World Cup-winning former Springbok coach Jake White has been formally unveiled by his new club – Montpellier.
The French on Tuesday took to social media to confirm the news that has been circulating since last week – White has replaced Fabien Galthie.
It was also confirmed that White will be assisted by fellow South African Shaun Sowerby and French international Stéphane Glas.
Midi Olympique reported on Monday that Galthié met with officials, who confirmed his departure.
Galthié, a former French captain, has been with Montpellier since 2010.
Sowerby will take control of the forwards, a position left vacant by the departure of Argentinean Mario Ledesma last month.
Glas looks to be the only member of the coach staff to have escaped the President's axe, as he is set to retain his backline coaching position.
White, who most recently coached the Sharks in this year's Super Rugby, left the Durban-based side amid reports of growing discord between the World Cup winner and his backroom staff, as well as with the players.
He was also used as a consultant for the Tongan national team during their year-end tour last month.
