The 33-year-old flyhalf, who has played 24 times for the national team and is rated the fifth best No.10 in the Top 14 on the RugbyPass Index, has signed a two-year deal with the option of a third year.

He will replace Ben Botica who is heading to Bordeaux-Begles.

Oyonnax will be Beauxis’ sixth club.

He began his career with Pau in 2003 and has since played for Stade Français (2006-2011), Toulouse (2011-2014), Bordeaux-Begles (2014-2017) and Lyon.

He made his international debut in 2007 and went on to play in the World Cup that year, featuring in France’s memorable quarterfinal win over New Zealand.

But he never nailed down the No.10 shirt and drifted in and out of the French team. His most recent caps came under current coach Jacques Brunel in the 2018 Six Nations.

Oyonnax is currently third in Pro D2 and pressing for a quick return to the Top 14 after being relegated last season.
