Toulon President Bernard Lemaître has poured cold water on the latest rumours circling around the World Cup-winning Springbok star.

Last week new rumours emerged of massive cash offers from Japan.

Lemaître, in the wake of Toulon’s 37-15 Top 14 demolition of Perpignan, publicly reacted to the reports.

He made it clear that the Bok superstar “wants to stay” in the port city on the French Riviera on the Mediterranean coast.

“We are in discussion with Cheslin Kolbe,” he told the French publication Midi Olympique.

“His departure would free up the payroll, yes,” the Toulon boss said, adding: “However, the sportsman in him prevails.

“We will not sell off Cheslin Kolbe.

“His first desire is to stay with us, even if there are huge requests from Japan.”
