"Oyonnax have ended Piri Weepu's contract,. The player is no longer part of the club's professional squad," the club said.

Weepu, capped 71 times by the All Blacks, has been plagued by thigh and groin injuries and was not involved in Oyonnax's last match, a 23-24 defeat by Ulster in the European Cup last weekend.
