In the latest of Jim Hamilton’s Walk the Talk series on RugbyPass TV, De Allende talks about beating hosts France on their home turf, how the media made the Springboks out to be the bad guys and how it was ‘personal’ for the South African players.

He also looks forward to what awaits in 2024.

“That first game against Ireland, at Loftus Versfeld, is going to be an incredible battle,” he said of the July 6 showdown in Pretoria.

De Allende also touched on the “disrespect” they got from the Irish and the manner the media reported on the World Champions’ loss in Paris in the pool match will add to the hype in the build-up.

“It is going to feel like a war,” the Bok midfielder said.
