IRFU set to boycott Bok's Ulster move

However, the idea does not sit well with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) according to media reports in Ireland.

With the confirmation of All Blacks Charles Piutau moving to Bristol at the end of the season and Paddy Jackson's contract being revoked by the IRFU after being acquitted of rape in March, Ulster are in dire need of a flyhalf.

During the season the Pro14 side managed to bring in Wallaby Christian Leali'ifano on a short-term deal after a similar move for All Black Stephen Donald fell through.

Currently, the team finished the campaign with only Johnny McPhillips as a specialised 10.

Jantjies could be a great option for the side. The flyhalf's current contract with the Lions runs until the end of Super Rugby in August.

However, according to the Belfast Telegraph, Jantjies' possible move to Ireland has been met with reluctance by the IRFU, who must sign off on all players.

The newspaper reported that IRFU is in favour of Ulster recruiting an Irish-qualified signing to aid the national side's preparations for next year's World Cup.
