Irish loss worsens with injuries

Ulster trio Paddy Wallace, Andrew Trimble and Tommy Bowe are all rated as doubtful for Ireland’s second Test against Argentina next weekend after picking up injuries in Saturday’s 22-20 defeat to the Pumas.

Trimble turned his ankle in the game and Bowe has a shoulder injury, while Wallace damaged his right knee and is only rated a 50-50 chance of being fit for the Buenos Aires clash.

Wasps fly-half Jeremy Staunton has flown out to Buenos Aires after being pulled off Barclays Churchill Cup duty with Ireland A and was expected to join the senior squad as cover for Wallace today.
