Kitshoff set for Bok debut
Nyakane suffered an ankle injury in his team's 32-26 win in the second Test last Saturday in Johannesburg and will not be ready to be considered for the final Test.
Nyakane's injury will give Kitshoff and opportunity be a part of the matchday 23 for the Third Test as loosehead cover. He will likely be on the bench with Tendai Mtawarira starting again as he has done in the previous two Tests.
The Bok management confirmed that they are bringing in another prop to cover both the loosehead and tighthead positions.
"I did not want to bring an overseas-based player back to become No.3 [in the pecking order], but I got a long term plan with Kitshoff," Coetzee said, when talking about Kitshoff's role in the camp.
"Kitshoff is one of those players who has all the potential to go to the next World Cup and I would like him to come back to South Africa and play his rugby in South Africa."
No.8 Duane Vermeulen (elbow) and Lodewyk de Jager (calf) have also left the Springbok camp because of injuries.
Meanwhile, Coetzee has backed Elton Jantjies to improve his goal-kicking ahead of the third Test.
Jantjies missed a few routine kicks at goal in the second Test in Johannesburg and Coetzee said he has a number of options if things go pair-shaped at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
"It is an individual skill [goal-kicking] – it is like a hooker throwing in [at the line-out]," said Coetzee.
"It is something he [Jantjies] has to work on. I think he has the ability to hit the zone, so hopefully he can get those right this weekend.
"That is the reason why we got Ruan Combrinck in the squad – he is an additional goal-kicker for us and he is also a long range goal-kicker.
"If all else goes wrong, we got Morne Steyn who can do the business as well."
