o'connell must get a winning send off
Both teams will be looking to put on an impressive showing ahead of the World Cup.
However, the Irish will be looking to also give O' Connell a winning end to his international career on home turf.
O'Connel is currently the fourth most capped Ireland player with 102 caps. He will be looking to become the third most capped player during the World Cup by eclipsing the 105 caps of John Hayes.
Ireland coach Les Kiss spoke in an interview on televion when he said: "It's been over seven years coaching with Paul. He is an inspiration.
"He's a special person in terms of leadership. He deserves a good send off and hopefully we can deliver that".
The focus will however be on putting in place all the structures ahead of the World Cup.
Ireland Prop Jack McGrath spoke in an interview about their prepation for this weekend's clash against Wales: "This weekend is going to be a really good test because Wales are going to send over a pretty tough side, and it will be a good marker for us".
The push for positions in the final World Cup squad has intensified and McGrath says: "It's a fine balance between getting youself right and not being inside your shell too much because if you don't express yourself, you are not going to produce your best.
"I have never been involved in a World Cup preparation, and it's brilliant, it's really ramping up now".
"It's one of the best Irish set-ups I've ever been in. We don't want guys doing their own thing, it's everyone for the team," added McGrath.
Andrew Trimble has recovered from a foot injury and will get a run against Wales.
Les Kiss spoke about Trimble's injury and said that it's "positive news, the foot seems really good. He trained fully and seems good to go.
"He just needs that final opportunity over the weekend to put his hand up".
Prop Cian Healy is also making huge strides back to full fitness after recovering from a neck surgery, which initially put him in doubt for the World Cup.
"Cian is gradually working his way back into it. We added a little more contact at the end of the session [practise] with him, and he is actually advancing quite well," added Kiss.
