SA duo get their Irish shot
The South African-born Ulster duo of Robbie Diack and Rob Herring have both been named in Ireland's 30-man squad to tour Argentina next month.
Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has rested four of his most experienced players and included an uncapped quartet, with prop James Cronin and scrumhalf Kieran Marmion included along with loose forward Diack and hooker Herring.
In what will be Ireland's first Test series since the retirement of centre great Brian O'Driscoll, the 2014 Six Nations champions will be without Sean O'Brien, Cian Healy, Gordon D'Arcy and Tommy Bowe, who've all been given a break by Schmidt.
Meanwhile promising Leinster flyhalf Ian Madigan will travel to Romania with the Emerging Ireland team.
A squad captained by veteran lock Paul O'Connell is due to leave for Buenos Aires on June 1, the day after the Pro12 final between Leinster and Glasgow.
