Narrow win for Tonga

Touring Tonga beat Italy A 16-9 at Stadio Vittorio Pozzo in Biella on Friday night. The visitors led 16-0 at half-time.

Tonga got off to a flying start and led 16-0 after just 15 minutes. That was also the half-time score but then Italy A fought back and could well have drawn the match but prop Massimiliano  Ravalle knocked on with an open line.

Italy A’s coach Gianluca Guides said afterwards: “We contested well during the match but unfortunately the start of the match was too much for us. I am only sorry that at the end we could not level the scores.”
