TRANSFER NEWS: Springbok fullback Willem Le Roux has confirmed his departure from Japanese club Toyota Verblitz.

The South African star joined the Toyota Verblitz in 2019 after a two-year stint with Premiership club Wasps.

The Springbok veteran has spent four years at the club and made his 50th appearance for the Japanese League one side earlier this month.

Le Roux took to Twitter to confirm the news.

He wrote: “I’d like to thank the staff and my teammates for an epic four years and to our wonderful fans for always being so supportive.

“I appreciate the opportunity to have represented such a great team. Arigato, Toyota Verblitz.”

The 33-year-old did not reveal his next move.

There have been rumours that Bok could return to South Africa and join the Stormers.

However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Le Roux started his career at the Boland Cavaliers, he also represented the Cheetahs, Griquas and Sharks.

A move to Stomrers seems very likely for the fullback, especially with reports linking Manie Libbok with a move to France.

However, Bulls will probably also target the Bok in their hopes of adding more experience to their roster.

A return to Cheetahs might also be on the cards.
