As reported by @rugby365com in April, Libbok will join the Liners in Japan Rugby’s Division Two.

He is a direct replacement for veteran Wallaby Quade Cooper, who left the Liners at the end of last season.

Libbok said he is delighted to join the Liners and wants to help the club return to Division One of the competition.

“I’m excited to be joining the Liners. It’s a great opportunity for me to contribute to the team’s success and do everything I can to help get the club back into the top division of Japanese rugby.

“I’m also looking forward to working with the younger players and sharing my experience to help them grow and develop.

“Most importantly, I can’t wait to connect with the fans and become part of the Liners community — both on and off the field.

“Thank you for the warm welcome. I’m ready for the journey ahead.”

Libbok is joined by two fellow South Africans: Centre Burger Odendaal from Northampton Saints and lock Ryno Pieterse from Castres.

Former Hurricanes and All Black centre Peter Umaga-Jensen has also joined the Liners.

Umaga-Jensen recently faced Libbok when the Springboks faced the Barbarians in June at the Cape Town Stadium.
