All Blacks taking no chances amid scrumhalf concern

INJURY UPDATE: The All Blacks have suffered an injury blow ahead of their clash against the Sharks at Kings Park on Tuesday.

New Zealand confirmed that Cam Roigard has been ruled out of the encounter.

The scrumhalf’s withdrawal was revealed via social media.

The Hurricanes No.9 is nursing a tight calf and has been withdrawn as a precautionary measure, with the All Blacks taking no chances ahead of a crucial period ahead of the Greatest Rivalry Tests series against the Springboks.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive in recent months and played a key role in the Hurricanes’ successful 2026 Super Rugby Pacific title campaign.

His performances have also put him firmly in the spotlight ahead of the upcoming Test matches against the Springboks.

With Roigard ruled out, Cortez Ratima will take his place on the bench. Ratima started for the All Blacks against the Stormers in Cape Town.
