AUDIO - Rassie: 'There's no need for us to celebrate too much'
LISTEN as Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus speaks about their record-breaking 43-10 win over the All Blacks at the Wellington Regional Stadium on Saturday.
The Boks went into the match knowing it was a must-win clash to keep their Rugby Championship hopes alive and retain the Freedom Cup
They went on to put on a masterclass display in the second half, outscoring New Zealand 36-0 for a record-breaking victory after being down 7-10 at half-time.
The result marks New Zealand’s biggest defeat at home and anywhere else in the world, and Erasmus’ gamble paid off after his backline selection was questioned the entire week since the team was named on Monday.
Bok boss Rassie Erasmus, however, was humble in victory despite rewriting the history books.

“We’ve been on the other side where we got 57 [points against us] away from home.
“There’s no need for us to celebrate too much. The respect we have for them, they’ve given [back] to us so many times.
“We’re just glad we got five [log] points and that we’re [back] in the mix for the Rugby Championship.
“Obviously, people are going to talk about records.
“Last week, they kept their record at Eden Park, and they didn’t shove it in our faces.
“The scoreline and the guys [to be able] to hang in there is nice.
“It’s more about us and what we’re trying to achieve.
“I know what it feels like in that change room on the other side. It’s nice, but I don’t think we need to dwell on that.”
