Barrett, simply the best...
Barrett totalled 170 points, made up of six tries, 46 conversions and 16 penalty goals in his 13 Tests.
Closest to him was Australian Bernard Foley, in the same number of Tests, with 134 points.
South Africa's Elton Jantjies was third on 125 points in nine Tests while England's Owen Farrell was the only other player to reach three figures with 104 points, also from nine Tests.
Since rugby went professional only four players have scored more than 200 points in a year. Out in front is Welshman Neil Jenkins who scored 263 in 14 Tests in 1999. Jonny Wilkinson scored 233 in 2003 for England while Springbok Percy Montgomery achieved 219 points in 2007 and All Black Dan Carter scored 203 points in 2008.
Farrell did claim the most points in one Test during the 2017 calendar year when scoring 26 against Scotland.
Barrett was second with 24 points against Samoa in Auckland. He was the only player to appear twice on the list for those who have scored more than 20 points as a result of his 21 points in the second Test against the British & Irish Lions in Wellington.
While Australian finished the year with most tries in Test matches with 12 tries, New Zealanders dominated the list with four players in the top nine.
Rieko Ioane scored 10, Barrett six, Waisake Naholo six and Damian McKenzie five.
New Zealanders still dominate the records for most tries in a year, Joe Rokocoko scored 17 in 2003 and Doug Howlett 14 in the same year to be first and second.
