Hoeata cleared to tour

All Blacks lock Jarrad Hoeata will travel to South Africa with the squad after a scan on his right shoulder cleared him to play.

The All Blacks, in a statement, said Tom Donnelly – who was on standby – was released to return to play for Otago an NPC match against Waikato in Hamilton on Sunday.

Hoeata injured his shoulder in Taranaki’s 39-33 win over Bay of Plenty on Tuesday.

A scan showed no serious damage, and Hoeata was cleared to travel to South Africa for the All Blacks’ Tri-Nations clash in Port Elizabeth next Saturday.

The All Blacks leave for SA on Saturday.
