PICTURES: Black Ferns set the tone with iconic World Cup design
SPOTLIGHT: The Black Ferns have unveiled their 2025 World Cup jersey as they gear up to defend their title this August.
In pure Black Ferns, the team are setting the tone with the iconic design, which includes a long list of their titles on the sleeve.
New Zealand have won the World Cup six times and is one of the most dominant teams in the history of the women’s game.
“Everyone knows the magnitude of this year for the squad as we head to England to defend our status as World Champions – it will be a hard-fought tournament from start to finish,” Black Ferns co-captain Ruahei Demant said.
“The jersey is so important to New Zealand and to us as the players who get to wear it on the world stage.
“It represents the dedication you need to wear it, but also the dedication from our whanau [family] and friends to help us get here.
“To have the opportunity to be a part of the creative process was a special experience and I hope it resonates with our fans the way it does with us.”
The Black Ferns kick off their title defence against Spain on August 24 in York.
