Pulu suspended for one week

Pulu was cited by Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds for a swinging arm tackle (law 10.4 e) on Tasman centre David Havili in the 12th minute of the game.

He was also shown a yellow carded by referee Jamie Nutbrown during the game for retaliating after a late tackle when he punched Tasman prop Ross Geldenhuys 10 minutes from half-time. He also received an official Citing Commissioner's warning for another dangerous tackle (law 10.4e) on Tasman lock Alex Ainley.

Tasman won the match 15 – 10.

In hearing the case, Duty Judicial Officer Chris Morris said Pulu had accepted the charge, which Mr Morris noted as reckless and the result of poor technique.

Given he had no relevant previous record and that the poor tackle technique would need correction, Mr Morris deemed a one-week suspension appropriate. Pulu is suspended from participating in any rugby until October 9.

He will not be eligible for selection for Counties Manukau's Week 8 fixture against Otago. Pulu can be considered for selection for their Week 9 fixture against Canterbury in Pukekohe on Saturday, October 15.
