He died at the team’s hotel in Edinburgh ahead of the All Blacks’ Nations Championship clash with Scotland on Saturday.

“To NZ Rugby and the Cadwallader family, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Logan Cadwallader,” Alexander said via a social media statement.

“At times such as these, we are reminded that rugby is more than a game; we’re a family bound together by shared values, lifelong friendships and a profound sense of belonging.

“We stand with you in mourning and share in your sadness during this difficult time.”

All Blacks coach Dave Rennie said Cadwallader had been loved and trusted by all and was a “true professional”.

“He looked after all of us, players and staff, and he was a good mate to many in this team. We are all devastated,” he said.

“As a team, we will honour Logan and the legacy he has left on the All Blacks.”

New Zealand Rugby boss Steve Lancaster paid tribute to the “valued and trusted” member of the All Blacks staff.
