COVID-19: Three Springboks legends test positive

SPOTLIGHT: The coronavirus continues to cause havoc as three more Springboks legends of the 1981 squad reportedly tested positive.

According to various South African media reports, the three high-profile stars tested positive following a golf day spent with Springbok legend Danie Gerber, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Gerber’s positive result was accompanied with immediate health fears for the 1981 group who had attended a golf day along with Gerber at the Border Hotel in Jan Kempdorp.

Those who were at the golf day and stayed at the Border Hotel included joint owner of the hotel Henning van Aswegen, Burger Geldenhuys, Divan Serfontein, Colin Beck and Gysie Pienaar.

According to Sport24, Serfontein, Beck and Geldenhuys have now all tested positive for Covid-19.

In addition, another former Springbok, Robbie Blair, who was also present at the golf day, has also tested positive.
