As usual, the hugely popular interview series will be hosted by Dean Allen – the author, lecturer and historian.
Smit – like the previous guests, Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger and Bryan Habana – is a keen supporter of the Players’ Fund.
Smit, a World Cup-winning Springbok captain and IRB Hall of Fame Member, remains one of South Africa’s most capped players.
Referred to by fellow former Bok skipper Jean de Villiers, as the Springbok’s ‘greatest-ever captain,’ Allen will look back with Smit at his illustrious career both for country and franchise.
This event forms part of the extraordinary fundraising efforts that the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund are having to venture into as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Funds raised through these events will be used to ensure that the Fund remains available to their 107 recipients throughout the country.
