Lions land massive signing as Bok heads to Jozi
TRANSFER NEWS: The Lions continue to strengthen their squad with yet another big signing.
After securing the signatures of Springboks Ruan Venter, Quan Horn and Morné van der Berg, the Johannesburg-based franchise confirmed on Monday the signing of Springbok prop Boan Venter.
The 28-year-old will officially link up with the Gauteng outfit in July 2026, joining from Scottish side Edinburgh.
Known for his powerful ball-carrying and solid scrummaging, the former Cheetahs prop Venter was touted to become a Scottish international.
However, the speculation was put to bed when he made his Springbok debut in July against Georgia.
He earned Springbok cap No. 950 and marked the occasion with a try in the 55-10 victory at Mbombela Stadium.
