SPOTLIGHT: Following an exceptional 2025 international rugby season, MyPlayers unveiled the nominees for the highly anticipated Players’ Player of the Year Awards.

This prestigious honour recognises the remarkable contributions made by players across the South African rugby landscape, with excellence acknowledged in three categories: Men’s Fifteens, Men’s Sevens and Springbok Women.

After a comprehensive selection process and consultation with player leadership groups, these nominees were thoughtfully selected.

Among the nominees for the Men’s Fifteens Players’ Player of the Year are Pieter-Steph du Toit, Ox Nche and Malcolm Marx, all of whom were also honoured as nominees for the 2025 World Rugby Men’s 15s Player of the Year, with Marx taking the global title.

Since John Smit received the inaugural award in 2005, the title has continued to recognise the most outstanding Men’s Fifteens players in South African rugby, as voted by their peers.
